WebSite News saw the NWKent Bowls Triples match (Men’s) played at Bexley Park on 18 July. One of our two teams got off to a great start, winning 10-0 after just 5 ends. Our other team at that stage in the match was losing 6-1.
It was still very warm in the sunny weather with a temperature around 26C. The green looked good the quality of bowling from both sides was good. After nine ends one of our teams was winning 12-3, whilst the other was losing 8-4. It looked, at this halfway stage, like this scoreline would be the basis for the remaining 9 ends.
Bowls games are seldom predictable, this match was no exception, the final 6 ends or so saw a contrast in both games. The B&B team that started so well lost 17-16, whereas our other team that was struggling for the first 9 ends won their match 18-14. A great match with B&B gaining four points.
