As usual, the Club held regular social Nights throughout the playing season, during which time we enjoyed three very successful evenings where professional entertainers sang a variety of songs to one full house and two other evenings where just over 50 members and their guests enjoyed the singing and the dancing.
Gary Leonard performed on Friday 6 May playing the guitar to a high standard, sang a mix of country songs along with a broad range of music from the 1960s through to the 1990s.
A few weeks later Martin Jaye, another country singer, really got people up from their seats and we have seldom seen as many people dancing including doing the conga!
The last of the summer entertainers was Double or Nothing who played a very wide range of songs including some where the saxophone was the highlight. Both Jay and Dave worked very hard all night and everybody kept expressing their delight with the duo. As sure as eggs are eggs it seems highly certain that this duo will be back to entertain us in 2023.
Very recently we have booked a tribute act, to be performed by Adam Barnard, (Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly) and look forward to the 30 June when the performance will be enjoyed by all. We have also rebooked Double or Nothing and they will be coming to Bexleyheath to play for us on the 1st September. Almost certainly there will be another entertainment night during the year as well as our usual get-togethers and quiz nights
etc.
